Review on 💧 Brightwell Aquatics Kalk+2 - Enhanced Kalkwasser Supplement 450g / 15.9oz by Michele Turner

I have a problem with my Kalk+2 product. I had my doubts that this product could work as advertised because magnesium will precipitate at high PH and since a saturated lime solution is a very high PH environment, logic dictates that magnesium will simply fall out of solution and am bottom of the container remains. Well, most limestone solutions have some sediment after they're fully saturated, which is why I initially thought it would. However, at this high cost I ran further tests and even at 50% saturation there is quite a bit of sediment on the bottom leading me to believe it is magnesium. Which also tells me that when I pour the slurry on the ground it's all magnesium and my dripper just gives out pure lime water which I can buy for a fraction of the cost. Further data suggests that the magnesium levels in my tank have not increased significantly, I am still seeing a typical consumption rate. Perhaps this product is more useful in a limestone agitator that discharges the slurry into the water column where the crystallized magnesium dissolves into solution in a seaward PH environment. I suggest promoting the recommended use in a limestone mixer and noting that magnesium will sink to the bottom if not weighed in the mixer. Calcium and alkalinity are higher than advertised but no better than a half price product.
