Convex Replacement for Bifocals, Ballistic Impact / ANSI Z87+

If you're a marksman, or maybe someone who works with tools like nail guns, pay special attention to a little plus sign. at the end when you read "Conforms to ANSI Z87+". They passed the HIGH SPEED impact test started in 2010. Consider stopping a 12-ga shotgun blast at a bird about 30 feet from your eyeballs. Your face will look terrible, but you still have to have eyes to see the damage in the mirror. That means I need bifocals to see the camera controls and an LCD screen to see the results. So finding glasses that meet or exceed the Z87+* torture tests and have vintage bifocal lenses, all for a few bucks, makes me a very lucky curmudgeon. I recently ordered and received my first pair. The frames are lightweight and have adjustable length and tilt temples. The slight vertical gap between the top of the lens and the frame should provide additional ventilation without sacrificing fog protection. I like glasses that are optically so clear that I don't feel any change when wearing them. And no matter how carefully I wear, store and wash them, sooner or later they wear out. Scratched lenses drive me insane. The clarity of that first pair was so impressive, plus the fact that they were discounted (with shipping and quantity. About three dollars a pair) convinced me to order ten more pairs. But even at eleven bucks a pair, it's a lot. $3 pcs I snuck out after I placed an order [shit!] and said it was a stock error, but I recently snagged another pair for $10 as a spare when I screwed up the first pair. Keep an eye out for unusual discounts so I can stock up seriously. I still love these goggles and would highly recommend them to anyone who needs bifocals that offer serious protection from projectiles or more general hazards. It could be a shot at a bird or a stone thrown from a lawnmower.

Pros
  • Goggles and Goggles
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
