Perfect cover for reptiles and amphibians

It does exactly what it's supposed to do. It covers my 5 gallon Fluval Chi tank perfectly! The only reason I put 4 instead of 5 is because I don't have enough room for a water heater. This is a square hole on one side for the black part of the filter design that snaps onto the glass. And because the water level has to be high, my kettle is above the glass level so I can't use the lid like it should. Luckily my Betta isn't a jumper so I don't have a problem. The lid arrived in perfect condition,

Took long enough.

I bought this for my Fluval Chi aquarium to reduce the area my fish can jump through. However, since I no longer use the Chi filter (because it sucks) and replaced it with another filter, my fish still has a big square to jump out of - I knew this was happening but have it Bought anyway because it's $5 My fish have less room to jump then why not? That thing looks really cute and I think it would look great with the Chi filter (if I still use it). The downside is that sometimes it rattles and…

A GOOD THING. Suitable for reptiles and amphibians

Not sure what quality to expect but it was on my wish list for several months and I finally bought it. It has a cut-out on one side for the original filter holder, but as I'm using a Whisper 40i and 2 clip-on reading LEDs from Ikea, I knew I had to change something. I chose to lose 1 light and clip the 40i directly to the remaining light's clip. The device fits perfectly in the cutout after careful tuning and modification. I didn't want to cut the lid or mount lights behind the tank because I…

Drop Limiter, Doesn't help with evaporation, needs cleaning

I love my Fluval Chi but like other Chi owners my biggest issue with the design is the amount of water evaporation and of course. . suicidal fish sweaters. The lid helps solve the fish problem and since I put the lid on I haven't found any fish or ghost shrimp outside the tank. Unfortunately, the evaporation is just as strong as before the coating. I'm sure the lid helps a bit, but it's not very noticeable. However, I notice that these covers get "dirty" very quickly. Drops of water will dry on

Good gas cap - not very effective

My Chi-Tank is in my office at work. I have no problem with my cock popping out. I bought a tank top to keep the water from evaporating, which is a real problem when I'm staying home for 2 days at the weekend. It might make a small difference, but it's not the improvement I was hoping for. It is made of fairly durable plastic and is invisible on the tank. As one reviewer mentioned, it protrudes a little past the top of the tank, but it's barely noticeable. Of course, to add water to the tank…

I was afraid the lid would take away the beauty

My 6.6 gallon chi tank has livebearers. In the past other aquariums have had some of my livebearers jumping, so I wanted to cover this tank with a lid to keep the fish safe. I was afraid the lid would detract from the natural beauty of this aquarium. I used the aquarium without a lid for several months and the fish never jumped. However, I was very unhappy with the amount of splatter and fumes that came without the lid. The spatter was my fault. I don't like using the rock basket on top of the…
