My Chi-Tank is in my office at work. I have no problem with my cock popping out. I bought a tank top to keep the water from evaporating, which is a real problem when I'm staying home for 2 days at the weekend. It might make a small difference, but it's not the improvement I was hoping for. It is made of fairly durable plastic and is invisible on the tank. As one reviewer mentioned, it protrudes a little past the top of the tank, but it's barely noticeable. Of course, to add water to the tank, it must be completely removed. (I can drop his food through the gap between the lid and the center pump without removing the lid.) I'm mostly happy with it, but there are two minor grumbles. (1) I have the plastic "plant" that Flugal sells for the top of the pump (looks like chia :)) and it requires some maneuvering to remove/put the cap over it. (2) I have a heater in my tank and there is no cord so my lid doesn't sit quite flat on the top of the tank in one of the back corners. This probably contributes to its ineffectiveness in preventing evaporation.
