This is a really fun sporty dog life jacket. I wanted this life jacket because we have a lot of dogs that attend camp, many of which end up on the water. You will be boating, including kayaking. In bad weather, I'm not sure if a dog can always come ashore on its own. This life jacket is a well tailored, perfectly designed jacket. One of my other dog life jackets had breathable mesh on the bottom, but this one is durable. We have life jackets for "humans” at the camp, so why not life jackets for dogs too? I had one that size but it was long gone. All fittings are very durable and made of impact-resistant plastic. Quick release buckles and leash clip are of good quality. There is a "handle" at the top that I can use to pull my dog to safety if needed. What's really funny is the shark fin on the top of the jacket. Usually when I buy something from the backpacks or dog harness range I usually go up a size. This lifeline is no different, so I'd recommend checking those dimensions carefully. If your dog is on the verge of one size or the next, choose the larger size. The sliders can only be adjusted to a limited extent and a tight fit is not suitable for actively swimming dogs. Unfortunately, this jacket was too big for my little Wieser, who didn't want to become a model.
