Plan on smearing when you arrive

I don't know about you, but I'm terribly tired of thoroughly smearing every leather item Weaver makes. I have had horses over 50 and was used to buying oiled leather goods that can be delivered straight from the box, bag or shelf. But in the last 10 years, leather products have become very dry and hard. Therefore, you need to do the lubrication and preservation, which should be done by the manufacturer and seller. I got a new barrel saddle that soaks up pints of conditioner just to protect my investment. Weaver seems to have a monopoly on riding leathers, so I had to condition all of their leathers before I could even use them. The best factor in the cost of a good conditioner is protecting your investment, otherwise be prepared for dry skin to crack or tear!

Pros
  • Durable tabs for easy on and off
Cons
  • Expensive
