I knocked over my mug in the driveway and broke the lid. The cup is still in perfect condition. I ordered these as a replacement. They are absolutely sealed. In fact, sometimes they are a bit difficult to put on and take off the cup. The seal moves when you put it on/off the cup but it's easy to put them back on and I've never had a leak with them. My only complaint is that I've had other lids that close rather than latch and this seems more user friendly. Also, the opening is a bit small for some of my reusable straws. Otherwise they work well and are good value.
