Holes in less than two months

My children study at home, so they spend a lot of time in socks and slippers. I bought these for my daughter who loves penguins and thought the rubber sole would make them a durable indoor shoe. She wears shoe size 12 or 13. I ordered 13-14 and the next size up, 2-3 to try on. 2-3 fell off her foot. My daughter loved the size 13; She said they were soft and cozy. They certainly looked well made. However, after a month, the gray fabric on the toe box started to separate from the sole. We've had them for eight weeks now and one slipper is completely frayed at the tip. I used to buy $10 fuzzy baba slippers which are more like sock slippers, and worn almost daily for six months. They didn't cost us $17. Perhaps if they don't wear out badly, they will come in handy.
