upset. good for me

I'm sorry to say I'm disappointed with this monitor but I'm afraid I am. Lenovo is a well-respected brand in general and all the specs on paper should make this thing an excellent monitor. Unfortunately, it's not excellent, but rather below average. When the box arrived everything was professionally packed and perfectly in place. Assembly requires no tools and takes just a few seconds of your time. The height of the monitor is not adjustable, but the viewing angle can be adjusted. The base is wide and solid, and the monitor itself comes with a power cord and HDMI cable, which is a nice touch. The monitor also supports a VGA connection and has an audio output. The monitor is razor thin for most of the panel, but as you can see from one of the images, there's still a bit of a thick bulk in the center of the rear. What disappointed me the most was the actual display and beyond. otherwise the display on the monitor is the most important thing! The menu settings are very wonky and completely unintuitive; I can't tell you how many times I've taken a step back or closed a menu just to take a step back. I played around with the brightness, contrast, color and all other settings for at least 10-15 minutes and couldn't get them to my liking. The main downside is the total lack of anything remotely reminiscent of pure black. This is where the razor-thin panel shoots the leg, as a side-lit panel simply can't produce a dark black and stay brightly lit across the entire panel. Look at the photos I took. This monitor is the second monitor I have now for my work from home and I use my LG TV as my main monitor (a big screen is very handy for any programs I need to open) and you can have a drastic one You can see the difference in black. The TV also has edge lighting, so I'm not comparing this monitor to more expensive technology (OLED or local dimming technology). It's day and night side by side, especially live. The second biggest downside is the resolution of the screen itself. The description says the panel is 1920 x 1080 and I'm pretty sure it is, but the weird thing here is that I can almost see the resolution lines with the naked eye and I don't have to be near the panel to see them! You can see what I'm talking about in one of the pictures, although it's never easy to photograph the panel accurately, this is the best I can do to show you just how "pixelated" the display really is. This can be very distracting and annoying. Overall, I'm quite shocked at the poor performance of this monitor given its not-so-cheap price point and excellent acclaim. I plan on keeping the monitor as it's just an extra monitor for now. If I return to work in any capacity and no longer need this setup I will either sell this monitor or give it away. I wouldn't use it for an everyday monitor and certainly never used it for gaming or watching videos. I can't say I recommend this monitor.
