Review on Hioki 3244-60 Card HiTester and Digital Multimeter - High Resistance, Wide Voltage Range by Clint Mcloven

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Nice and well built but emits a constant annoying beeping sound

Pros: good quality, excellent probes (sharp tips, flexible wires - albeit a bit shorter), fairly fast and to the last digit exactly - as you would expect from a well-known "Made in Japan" brand like Hioki. Cons: It keeps beeping and you can't do anything about it. Whatever you're measuring, it will beep each time it changes range (trying to find the best range) and then beep again when it reaches the final reading. Leave it on a table in V mode with probes in the air (doing nothing) and it will pick up 60Hz noise and display random numbers (just like any other meter). But unlike any other meter, it also beeps if you accidentally change ranges while trying to measure noise. It's also a great gauge. There would be more options (test diodes and capacitance), but the missing features are due to the price, so no problem with that.
