Had to fix this winch to use after the first day of use and it broke beyond repair on the third day of use. I have used this winch on a log haul arch to move about 1500 pounds of logs. On the very first day of use, the drum began to rub against the sides of the winch. This was because the main body was made of extremely soft steel. I had to re-drill and install a larger screw, use different bushings and install spacers to hold them in place. Another solution would be to weld the bolt so that it cannot rotate in the winch frame. On the third day the drum cracked, which is why I had to buy a better winch at that moment. This winch can be used for light applications, but for any real-world use close to the rating, you should buy a better winch.
