    it is cracked/broken. And now I'm stuck again!

    This is not locked. He's constantly losing sag. Bad at towing a boat. We have to buy another one. good deal until you try to use it. It doesn't snap, it's a mesh, we unraveled it and found it had tears/breaks. And now I'm stuck again!

    Poorly made, not worth the trouble

    Stuck on first use. So much scrap metal was left over from processing that it took an hour before it was usable. Even then very bad gear shifting. An experienced store cannot do this. I would have sent it back but had to use it immediately.

    Revain bothering me about the recall

    Haven't needed it yet but Amazon keeps pestering me with reviews. It seems a bit cheap but looks like it will work fine. You will need a wrench to remove/replace the nut to move the crank from low gear to high gear. Seems ok for the price

    Much easier to pull my boat onto the berths.

    After I rewind the winch to properly feed and untangle the cord. The reel doesn't put much tension on the line when it's set, so it creates a tangle on the reel. If someone just pulls and tightens it without rewinding the spool, it will severely damage the cable, greatly reduce the cable's working capacity, and not tension the boat at all. If they wrap the coil well and tightly, they will ship it without keeping the coil taut and it will loosen during shipping. Otherwise an excellent product.

    What can I say? Estimated £3500, two gears delivered to Central Texas within a week of ordering for less than $50 including shipping? So far this is a good deal as long as it lasts for a useful period of time. I've attached it to a pig trap trailer where it drags the trap on skids to the side of the ramp. There are two gears, so if the going gets tough you can shift the grip to a lower gear. All gears and axles have been graphite lubricated, the cable is smooth and well laid out for delivery…

    the gears don't even fit the corresponding axle

    Some gears are welded 2 or 3 degrees crooked so they wobble when working. In other words, the gear is not normal or perpendicular to the corresponding axis. The design may be good but the construction is so bad I can't tell. I will return mine. Otherwise I'm quite skeptical about the carrying capacity. This requires 3500 lbs, but all axles, sheet steel, gears, bearings, etc. are the same thickness as the 1500 lb Reese model I'm looking to replace. McMaster-Carr has a better range of "real"…

    Poor materials and construction

    Had to fix this winch to use after the first day of use and it broke beyond repair on the third day of use. I have used this winch on a log haul arch to move about 1500 pounds of logs. On the very first day of use, the drum began to rub against the sides of the winch. This was because the main body was made of extremely soft steel. I had to re-drill and install a larger screw, use different bushings and install spacers to hold them in place. Another solution would be to weld the bolt so that it
