My kitten (3 years old) was constantly itching and bleeding near the eye no less. First I put this cone on him and he lost all will to live for about 3 hours. After that, he began to walk around the house and learned to see with this cone. He started to heal very quickly with the antibiotic ointment he was using to treat the wound, so I removed the cone too soon. I was fooled and he went back to work scratching and bleeding again. So I left it on for 1 week and removed it 3 times a day during meals and snuggling and to reposition the collar and dry wet water/food soaked areas. The plastic was easy to clean. Within a week he was almost fully recovered and after a quick bath, which he badly needed after this ordeal (it smelled a bit), he was back to his free, loving and playful self. PS, this is also great for cutting nails. You can't bite or scratch that hard in such a submissive situation.😎👍👍
