My initial evaluation and intention to buy was because of the smell. Lavender, gardenia and lilac are my favorite scents. I'm used to very large, eye-pleasing candles that add scent to a room, but again, standing out from the room isn't good. I tried them and was initially very disappointed that they didn't compare to the big eye pain candles I'm used to. These are smaller candles though, they are aesthetically pleasing and add character to the room. If you want to scent an entire room then you're going to have to go for big ugly candles, but if you want something that will add color and character to the room or that can be used as a focal point, this set is for you. I would give 3 stars because while not what I was looking for, they serve the purpose that many others are looking for. Customer service gets 5 stars so I chose between them.
