I have an extension I want to install. The cable should only be 3 feet long. So my choice was to splice the wire, open the strip and remove the cable at that end, or swap the connector. I opened the tape and there was a strain relief taped to it, so I couldn't shorten the cable. I figured replacing the connector was better than splicing and shrinking the cable. The connector is a good size, I would have preferred it to be thinner but not too big, also I can rotate the pins to fit the cable on the strip. .
