Review on πŸ”§ Motion Pro Heavy-Duty Spring Hook - Model 08-0127 by Chris Smotherman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best Tool Kit for Really Heavy Duty

I needed a tool strong enough to stretch the heavy spring that connects the deck to the mower. Using the vise just didn't work. The other spring hooks here at Revain didn't look like they could cut mustard, although I could be wrong as my estimate was based solely on pictures. My only concern with this (again from his picture) is the welding on the handle - will it hold if I throw my weight at it? When I received the item, I was relieved to find that the 10" shaft was actually welded to the handle at TWO points - the first at the location you see in the picture and the second on the other side of the handle, which is NOT visible. in the picture. The shaft goes through a hollow cylindrical handle. I'll try to add a photo of mine to show the second weld. After the intended use, the fear that the welds or the hook would lose their shape was allayed. It has also proven itself for removing cotter pins that are difficult to access. It will surely come in handy in future projects, big or small. Pros: 10" reach for tight spaces. Most others I've seen are shorter. Cylindrical grip is comfortable for fingers under heavy tension. Textured grip makes it easier to grip. .Cons: May cost more than some snap hook, but this one should last forever.
