Very easy to clean thoroughly. This was the number one thing I looked for when choosing an automatic feeder and waterer for my grow box. I have young silkworms so any product is huge for them. You can use the utensils but still need to grow into them a bit. You can get water and food without climbing inside; However, because they are so small at this age, they tend to jump into the feeding bowl and stand in it to eat. I don't think it's the product. I only have very small chickens. Overall I am very happy with the product and I think I will like it even more in a few weeks when my chickens are older.
