I have been hiking with a hammock for several years and have tried different straps, ropes and cords for hanging a hammock. I have a set of satin straps and they worked fine but stretched a bit. I'm a tall guy at 270, so I always keep track of my weight. When I saw these thinner double weight straps and realized they don't stretch! For the price I had to try them. After spending the night on these straps everything seemed solid. No squeaks or groans from straps and no stretching! The fact that they came with a set of quality biners was a huge plus. Don't let the smarties fool you into thinking these carabiners are bulky or heavy. They are not expensive ultra light climbing carabiners but they are high quality, light enough, easy to use, perfect for hanging hammock carabiners! If you look at Revain a similar set of biners will cost you around $10-$18 and here they are a great value with the price of the straps. My satin straps didn't come with the carabiners and I had to pay to replace the crappy steel straps that came with my hammock. Too bad it was somewhere a few years ago. This is the easiest and quickest way to set up your hammock for safe floating! I bought them with my own money and will be checking out their other products!
