This DVD recorder combo VCR is better than a HD hard disk recorder. Unfortunately, you cannot buy an HD DVR in the US like people do in most other parts of the world. With the integrated digital tuner, this device records in almost the HD aspect ratio of 16:9. I can not distinguish it from HD broadcasts. I'm sorry but I have to say that you will probably have trouble finding it. Apparently, the powerful managed to remove this recorder from the US market.
