Works for me

I use a Panasonic DVD/VHS recorder/player to record and play TV programs. No need to pay for cables. Works great for my purpose. The only problem is that this is a discontinued product and if the unit fails you will need to purchase a used/refurbished item to replace it.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • No instructions

Great product but returned after reviving an old one.

I love this product but had to return it when one of my old ones worked instead. I still hope that one day Panasonic will be able to sell new HD DVD recorders in the US. Then I would think about buying a new one if I can afford it. If new HD DVD recorders are permanently banned from importing into the US, I would like to consider buying another refurbished recorder and going to Revain.com first.

Refurbished Panasonics Maintains quality new hardware

Had a Panasonic of the same model and appreciated the quality. Since I was already familiar with the menu screens and functions, there is no learning curve. For those who need a digital tuner, don't have a TiVo subscription and prefer easy navigation through DVR-recorded content, this is a high-end model. Digital signals can be recorded in 5 different quality modes and HD signals are of course upconverted (True HD requires 6 gigabytes for 1 hour recording and DVDs are limited to 4.7 gigabytes).

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Crumpled

Good DVR but could be much better

The DMR-EZ485V firmware is slow and prone to freezing but when the unit is working properly it works fine. I have a lot of issues with this device, but I'm willing to put up with some "incomprehensible" firmware because of the features this device offers. Tip: Don't buy a new unit, buy a Revain refurbished Panasonic unit. at half the price it will work better as it will most likely be running the latest firmware from Panasonic. It was probably a new unit returned by a disappointed customer who…

Good value for money for TV and video

New digital media can be frustrating; Changing channels takes forever, and pressing the wrong buttons will "reset" the device, which can take ten to fifteen minutes. The unit works well and the manual, thick as it is, assumes the user is familiar with terns etc, which is a sticking point. However, the phone support is very good. However, what I didn't know was that when using the VCR function, it wouldn't record digital broadcasts, which is strange since I was able to record to tape with my old

  • Delivery was very quick

  • I don't remember

GREAT DVD VIDEO RECORDER!

This DVD recorder combo VCR is better than a HD hard disk recorder. Unfortunately, you cannot buy an HD DVR in the US like people do in most other parts of the world. With the integrated digital tuner, this device records in almost the HD aspect ratio of 16:9. I can not distinguish it from HD broadcasts. I'm sorry but I have to say that you will probably have trouble finding it. Apparently, the powerful managed to remove this recorder from the US market. You'll probably need to rent a DVR from…
