Bard doors aren't very good at stopping light, although it's great to have these doors as attachment points if you need to attach something like diffused material or black film. They are also nice to have as they protect the LED bulbs when folded. Bard doors are also easy to open when you don't need them at all. Light contains 3 gels. Course" to darken it to your liking. Remember: I personally haven't had any battery life issues since I use a high wattage NPF battery, although I've seen some reviews of battery life complaints, so I would don't recommend using double A batteries and going for an NPF type battery I haven't used this light for long, although reviewers also mention that the internal fan kicks in when the unit gets warm, which is good, though this creates some fan noise when you want a quiet room.I love this light and there aren't many other options that are as versatile at this price point.
