Review on 🚐 Facon Surface Interior Indicator Motorhome: Optimize Your RV's Interior Illumination by Todd Markel

Gives good light but is sensitive to voltage and has light leakage around the fixture

Overall I like this Facon 5 inch LED fixture. I use it in a dark corner of the house where it is solar powered. (Look at my first photo.) During the day, when the house is light, the sunlight hits the solar panel, which then charges the battery and turns on the lights. I have a light on a timer that currently turns the light off at 6pm. However, in winter the sun sets around 5pm and after 4.30pm there is little to no sun on the solar panel. So this facon light is empty from 4:30pm to 6:00pm when the timer turns off the light. If it was a sunny day, no problem. lots of light. However, if the day is cloudy, the performance of this faceon drops quickly and it can become almost completely dark. This tells me that it really needs 12.6 volts (the output voltage of the battery when charged) and quickly loses light if the voltage drops below that value. This is problem #1. Problem #2 is light leaking around the base of the Facon LED downlight (see my second photo). Of course we could seal or cover the leak with tape, but the seal makes the installation stronger than we would like and the tape can come loose and need to be reapplied over time. (This light heats up, which softens the tape.) Those two things aside, I like this light. There is a lot of light - on a clear day it really brightens up the room. Using two or four of these in an RV would be really fun to shine. I could buy this Facon lamp again, but I'm not completely satisfied with it.
