Review on πŸ–ŒοΈ Artist's Loft Dual Tip Watercolor Markers - 24 Vibrant Colors by Kristen Reid

I even prefer them to Tombows!

Yes I struggled for hours with markers and pens, read reviews and looked through manuals and finally ordered a 48k set along with a 34k Caliart set. I have a set of 9k tombows and while they are certainly juicy, like many others I cannot afford a full set. I was also disappointed with how quickly the ends seem to wear off even when using the right paper and rotating the brush. I had just started doing lettering as more than just a random thing and I needed a kit to practice strokes without wasting good ink. I was planning to buy one of the many inexpensive sets (hence the Caliart) but after seeing so many positive reviews for Artists Loft I bought these too to compare. Result: Artists Loft are more like watercolor pencils than markers like Tombows, but all I feel is adding a subtle and beautiful gradient to my lettering. They're easier to control than tombows but still give the fine lines I need to create fancier scenarios. Caliart is more like cheap markers and is almost impossible to draw a fine line on most brush tips. Some could make a fine line, but that was an anomaly, the rest felt worn, even new out of the box. Also, with Caliart SUPER, it is difficult to remove the top layer from the side of the brush. Some artists' Loft colors are more transparent, like fancy highlighters, but there are so many of these in the set that the vast majority have a rich, vibrant color that makes them a great tombow parody. The box isn't ideal for use, but I bought a marker case to hold them all, plus my tombows and gelly roll pens. They even mix well with water, which works better for me than using the blender pen that comes with Tombows. plus my tombows and gelly roll pens.
