So I bought it for the same reason as everyone else (peace of mind). The quality of the device is much better than I expected for what I paid. The only part that feels fragile are the volume and adjustment knobs. They seem to break if you drop the radio. Both indicators are very bright and better than expected. The radio will work fine as long as you don't mind constant static electricity. The tuning proved to be extremely sensitive and I can barely get the transmitter to lock into place. SW doesn't record where I am which is a bit disappointing. It holds a charge very well as I've taken it hiking every day since I got it and it hasn't died on me. can charge it from both the charger and the crank and solar panel like my phone. The SOS signal is pretty loud for such a small radio and the compass crashes when I'm in the mountains but works when I'm at home but you never want to be without a compass so it's no big deal, but it would be nice if he worked. The volume is loud enough to play in the background when going camping or listening at home. All in all, a decent device for emergencies. If you don't have anything locally, this is a good and inexpensive option.
