This ruler is essential for trimming fabric up to a quarter of an inch before adding the next fabric when sewing paper chains. It is of good thickness and the ruler tapers nicely from the thicker side of the quarter inch edge to the regular edge which is thin to make folding the paper back easier and more accurate. It's also transparent enough to see the pattern marks through the ruler. This is a very good ruler that is easy to use and comfortable to hold.
