First of all I have tried many car phone holders including dashboard holders, windshield holders and air vent holders. Most of them work well in the beginning but fail over time; whether due to a suction failure or a vent clip or material. I have found that air vent mounts usually fail due to the clip as the weight of the phone and the constant removing and placing the phone on the mount slowly pulls it down. This holder solves this problem with a hook that is held on the back of the air vent. It also has a clip that makes it twice as strong. I've been using it for 3 weeks now and no problems so far. I have a heavy case on my phone and it holds up. Also, the release button at the bottom can be released quickly, which I like. The only thing I haven't tried yet is the dashboard/windshield. I don't usually like it when my phone blocks my view. However, it comes with a suction bottom and a button that provides better suction. The adjustment lever is easy to use and has a large range. My only reservation on this subject is time. 3 weeks is good but I'll see how it holds up in the long run. But given the price and performance of this device, I would definitely recommend it.
