Review on Tenba Solstice 20L Backpack 636 414 by Barb Bosch

Works for me but probably won't hold up under heavy use.

I bought this bag for short trips when using my 200-600 for birding, but sometimes I wish I carried a wide-angle or rangefinder zoom for landscape photography. I also wanted a small bag that would fit my Sony A7Riii with the 200-600 attached, as well as other gear in the event of a heavy downpour. The bag size is perfect for this and I can fit my 200-600, 20mm and 24-105 zoom camera in neoprene bags. What disappoints me about the $150 bag is that the zippers are small and flimsy, the finished chest strap flew out of the way when putting it on, and the overall quality of the bag is MUCH worse than my Shimoda or Lowepro bags. If it weren't for the desire to have the smallest bag for this gear in a slim form factor I would go with another brand but no one seems to be making anything quite like it. I wouldn't recommend this for long hikes or heavy use and in fact I can replace some of the buckles and sew on a permanent chest strap.

Pros
  • Ease of use
Cons
  • boring packaging
