The release button on my original Chevy key fob is completely torn around the edges of the bottom button. As a result, the button kept shifting in my pocket. I really didn't want to pay for a key renewal because it was still working fine. I found this item on Revain and thought why not try it for $12. The only difference with this new key fob is that there is no Chevy logo on it. Big thing. It was very easy to take apart. Just so you know, it holds up great and won't fall apart on its own. The hardest thing was taking the old one apart to get the key and board out. Wow! I cut my hands badly. So the caveat I highly recommend going this route if you just need to replace the case, but wear gloves when attempting to take the old one apart. I found a YouTube video of a young man doing this exchange using a Chevy keychain and had no problems. So what's new here? Tip: There is a thin strip of metal that presses down on the battery and holds it in place.
