I am a school occupational therapist. Sometimes I like to use a hole punch for different activities to help my students increase their grip strength. Most traditional hand punches require MUCH more force than my kindergarten and first graders do. I've tried a few decorative punches where you press a button while the punch is on the table and it's difficult for my students to see where to put the paper. This drill was recommended to me by an OT friend and I'm glad I bought it! My students can grab it and squeeze it all the way to punch holes in the paper. It is also clear where to put the paper, allowing them to be more independent in this task. I would recommend it to anyone working with children or having grip strength issues due to arthritis, multiple sclerosis, injury or general weakness.
