I don't know how well the suction works on the dash but it works great on my windshield. I use it to hold my phone to the side in my 2009 Pontiac G8 GT. The adjustment is convenient and allows me to place the phone where I want it, just above the top of the dashboard. I've been using it for over a week now and it's fine and my phone is pretty stable in this thing. I really like how the phone clip works.
