Review on Bell Howell Cube Projector Drive by Brian Nicholas

Withstands 2000 slides I just digitally transferred (WOW!). The online instructions linked don't really explain how to replace this mechanism, so I will: 1) disassemble JUST ENOUGH to remove it from the back of the projector. You just have to loosen the top so it lifts up a bit so you can take out the back panel (which is held in place by little lugs that hook into the frame, they just need a little wiggle room to push the back out at the top edge). and lift at the bottom edge). 2) Remove the lamp replacement door from the bottom for better access (bottom and side, at this point). 3) You can see the (broken) cog from below at this point, and the (nice?) big white mechanism that drives it. Use the Allen key to remove the screw through the hub of the large white drive gear and slide it off the shaft. Now you can remove the broken black gear from the shaft, replace it with a new one, put the white gear back on the shaft (wiggling it so its teeth engage the new black gear teeth) and reassemble everything in reverse order.
