Review on 🆒 Amicool YB88 Portable Air Conditioner: Compact and Cooling in White by Thomas Mertz

First my disclaimer: The seller of this item refunded my purchase price based on the rating of the item. This review is a full and honest review regardless of my expenses being reimbursed. First you need to understand that this is not an air conditioner. Basically it is a fan combined with water mist that cools the air around you. I've personally had several of these devices, some of which are worth the money to keep you cool and some of which are rubbish! This device is worth the money. It's easy to use and cools the air around you. This is a personal exhaust device and is not intended for room cooling. The device works with 5 volt direct current. It comes with a USB cable that you can plug into your computer or any other USB port. This is not a rechargeable device but needs to be plugged in to use it. The unit does not come with a 5V pluggable power supply which I think should be included. To use the device, fill the tank in the device with water. After that, when you start the device, the water in the tank turns into mist, and the built-in fan blows misty air towards you to cool the air around you. Some of the other units I've had had large water tank holes so you could add ice cubes and cool the mist. One of the downsides I find with this device is that the hole for adding water to the tank is very small. When I first used the device I was shocked to find that a small amount of water got into the reservoir. There is a viewing window on the side of the unit that allows you to see how much water is going in, with a mark showing the maximum amount of water that should be added. However, I have used this device a few times. and water in the reservoir, although I was shocked to see some water added, it seems to last at least six hours. This was quite surprising as some of the other devices I've used contained larger water tanks than the device I'm reviewing, however these devices only lasted 3-4 hours on water mist. The Amicool device is quite attractive and appears to be well built. The box the unit came in says Berlin, Germany, but I cannot vouch for the product being made there. This device is very easy to use. It has an on-off switch, a demist switch, a fan switch that controls multiple fan speeds, and a timer. All switches are touch sensitive. The switch turns on with a gentle touch and turns off with a long touch. The demist switch is activated with a gentle touch. The fan switch turns on with a gentle touch, and the fan has three speeds. Extra soft touch increases fan speed. The timer has 1 hour, 2 hours and 3 hours, selection is made by gently touching the timer. The fan is very quiet even at maximum speed and shouldn't bother anyone. In my opinion, Amicool has a good price. and definitely worth the money. I've only had the device for a few days, so I can't comment on the durability. However, as I said earlier in this review, the device looks well built.
