I needed extra spinal protection after two surgeries (not related to driving). I'm 5'8" and 165 pounds. I ordered the Icon under the jacket. I removed the back panel of the D3O from the jacket to keep it in shape and it worked well. The waist belt can be adjusted with velcro straps can be raised or lowered in the rear.I left mine in the factory position so it doesn't get in the way of my back that I wear when riding.For my height and build, the position of the factory lap belt was in relation to the position of the side plates perfect for protecting ribs.Overall this version is a bit pricey at $200 but considering the impact without it it's a bargain.I always get paranoid when a teenager texts me at a traffic light.If you can afford it , I recommend 100% I hope this review was helpful Stay there for sure!
