This is my third Dell charger for my XPS12. The problem with the previous two came from Dell authenticating a third-party adapter with a thin center pin in the connector that breaks easily or eventually fails. If you decide to get a replacement, you will be forced to buy one of "their" more expensive adapters. If the original adapter fails or you try to use a third-party adapter, you'll get a message that says something along the lines of "Cannot determine adapter type". " and it doesn't charge, reducing performance to a painfully slow level. Suddenly, opening a folder from instant takes 5 seconds, opening a photo takes 10 seconds, and opening a video takes a minute. Most interesting is that there is NOTHING WRONG with the adapter.Just a tiny cable that tells the computer that it is a Dell charger doesn't work off.As for this particular adapter. It looks real and is identified as a real adapter, which works as expected My PC I spent $1300 for features as before, not for a Windows 98 entry level PC either, but so far so good.
