I have had Western Chief wellies before and this pair did not disappoint. My son got a frog cape and hat so these boots go perfectly with it! I'm one size larger than his standard shoe size. They're a bit tight around a baby's chubby feet, but unless his socks are wet or very thick, I can put them on without difficulty. Boots, of course he will have enough room for his toes to grow into them. As his legs get longer, they get a little thinner, so I think I should wear these boots for a full year. The quality is excellent - durable plastic and strong connections. A few reviewers said the drawstrings snapped on them, and I can imagine how that would happen if a lot of pressure was put on them. Just look at the diameter of the strap - it doesn't need to be ruthlessly pulled! They are designed to help the child get their foot into the boot rather than force it out. After a few weeks of use they are a bit scratched (year old + dirt and gravel) and dirty but there are no signs of structural problems. My daughter has had Western Chief wellies for over a year now and they are as durable as the day we bought them.
