    NO NAME BRAND KNOCKOFF

I received an unknown branded product with no mention of a lifetime warranty in the booklet that came with it (specifically why I bought the OrionMotorTech product) and also lacked a matching manufacturer part number and the worst of it. the item was clearly marked DO NOT USE an IMPACT IMPACT KEY on the body which was omitted from the picture shown to an online buyer and is exactly what I would use but this is also not mentioned in the OrionMotorTech product description. The item is back!

    Perfect for replacing gimbals

I bought this because I was tired of struggling with arbor presses and other ways of changing crosses. It was easy to see on the receiving side and the pressing side. After reading comments about threading issues, I applied synthetic lubricant to the shaft threads prior to use. Using just a crescent moon and little effort, I extruded the cap from one side and then the other. I usually hate switching gimbals, but this tool really made it fun. I'm glad I bought it.

The right tool for the job

I bought this tool to remove bushings on the levers. We are working on a frame restoration on a 1967 Chevelle. To say the bushing is rusted would be an understatement. The bushing has an inner bushing and an outer bushing with a rubber bushing in between. On some bushings I had to burn out or drill out the rubber to make it more convenient to use this tool and press out the retainer. We've also found that cleaning the rust around the hub with a wire brush helps. The tool is marked with a "Do…

but worked fine. on ball joint and tie rod tools

Used on Ranger 4x4 lower ball joints. Removed the old originals after removing the hub/axle, upper/lower ball joints and tie rod, penetrating liquid was used to help. I braced the forearm and with a few deft punches they popped out, Ps original ball joints with 240k+ miles, also need to remove the locking brace. I cleaned and lubricated the hole with a spoked wheel. Before installing, I placed several sets of mugs and plates on the yoke, along with a ball joint for a test run. As an aid, I also

    Huge, strong. It just works.

Replacing the lower ball joints on a 2006 F150. These are steel pivots that press into aluminum forearms. If you've ever tried disassembling pressed steel and aluminum parts, you know it can be a real pain. I used a penetrating oil a few days before work, not that I think helped - it just can't penetrate (although I know it says it in the title). I used a jack under the control arm and knocked the $&%( out of the hinge with the three pounder sled until I saw it move. It doesn't matter how hard…

    waste of time and money.

I have been working as a locksmith in my own shop for 4 years and many more in other shops. I was looking for a quality ball joint press tool that wouldn't break and takes up a ton of space with an H-frame hydraulic press. Well apparently this tool is just one of those "too good to be true" offers because I've bought 3 different brands without these and they all bend after one use and become unusable. Using every possible combat option, PLUS used an air hammer on a full cockpit at 150psi. It…

    Better than I thought.

I had some trouble clamping the ball joints into the steering knuckles on my 2005 Civic EX with a vise, so I gave in and ordered this kit despite some bad reviews. I had no real problems with this once I realized you can't follow the setup instructions to press the ball joints onto the EM2 (7th Gen Civic) steering knuckles, mainly because it's designed to press them into the control arm , where you have enough space to install various adapters. If you look at a diagram showing how to align…

Works fine - if you know how to use it

Until I bought this tool I was just borrowing it, which you can do for free at most major auto parts stores - well, as long as you do what - purchasing. I've been working with the interface a lot and will probably do more, so I decided to just get my own tool. This one is very similar to the ones I borrowed, albeit a bit smaller which means a few less adapters. But for my 2010 F150 it had what I needed and would get along well with the other 20 or so jobs I've done in my life. It's well-made…
