Review on πŸ“ Efficient Solar GPS Tracker: Trak-4 - Self-Charging for Equipment, Vehicles, and Assets by Rick Vidaurri

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Handy with GPS, finder and accessories

I placed it on my cargo trailer behind the vent where it is not visible from the road and is always exposed to the sun. It only needs 20 hours of sunlight per week to function properly. I used industrial velcro to attach it to the roof. Batteries last 5 years. If it sees ten satellites, it will give you the exact position. If not, you get the area determined from the cell tower triangulation. The user interface is easy to use. It has three easy-to-select report levels, each more powerful than the previous one, but also more up-to-date. When parking, I opted for the second one, which provides a position report once a day. I receive a report on my computer when I visit the relevant website. Since it has an internal SIM card that you activate when you pick a plan, that plan has to work. For the extra $4, I went with the more expensive one, which has more reporting options. Basic was about $18 a year, but I don't swear by it. Anyway, I'm driving this trailer across the country this January, and the last thing I want to think about when I leave my motel room in the morning is a trailer that wasn't where I parked it the night before . . So I go back in the room, I call the state police, and we can all track his current whereabouts in real time on my computer. Solar charging means I don't have to worry about changing batteries or batteries the night before I head to the parking lot to find my trailer.
