For those who live in the countryside, this is a good choice. I'm aware of the environmental issues, but I'm more of a lazy consumer. Use a paper towel and then just throw it away. Who really wants to wash "paper" towels? Now that you are aware of my skeptical view, here is my review. First, they are strong enough, will not tear or fall apart. I then washed them in the sink after use and they came out clean but not new. I wash my granite countertops several times a day and use one of these daily, rinsing after each use. These are comfortable towels with many uses. For kids who use chalkboards on their desks, it would be great to have one handy. I have also used it several times on a rainy day to clean my dog's paws.
