I liked that this mouse pad was huge. The reason for the bad rating is that the finish was bad for the carpet I had. The surface has a horizontally linear texture that causes mouse movements to be slower vertically (requiring more power) and faster horizontally. Even with horizontal movements, I had the feeling that the mouse wanted to move along the lines. The mouse will feel like it is being guided along a horizontal line rather than free and unmanaged. I tried sanding the texture but that didn't work. I ended up with a Dechanic XXXL mouse pad that doesn't cover my entire desk, although the texture is much larger than this mouse pad. However, Dechanic is faster, which required some adjustments from me. You can try this one, although the Razer and Dechanic pads I've tried don't have that awkward linear texture I've described. I'm also surprised that not many people report this in their reviews.
