I needed a high performance backup drive for extra storage. I'm editing large video files and need more storage space to replace my existing backup drive. Western Digital HD is spot on. Revain offers this great drive at a great price. I've been using it for about 30 days with no installation or operation issues. It works as advertised. As other reviewers point out, OEM means cables, rails, screws, and installation software are not included. Being an HD replacement means no problems other than formatting, which Windows does for you. Check your BIOS settings and you're done after formatting your hard drive. But if you need this hardware for installation, order an HD installation kit from Revain or from the manufacturer. It may be cheaper to order a WD HD retail kit that includes these components. If you have installation problems, please visit the WD website for installation assistance, including free drivers if needed. You may need to visit your computer manufacturer's website for the latest BIOS updates. And don't forget, if you have older versions of Windows XP or Vista, get their service pack updates as well. Finally, over the past few months, Revain has received many complaints about shipping issues with these OEM HDs from previous reviews. I asked for FREE shipping and was not disappointed. WD ships its HDs in a box with thick foam padding around the HD. The HD ships in a standard WD electrostatic package. Revain ships the HD in its packaging with a standard air-filled plastic filler as an insulator. If I notice any external damage to the packaging or the compressed insulators, it may impact and damage the hard drive. If you notice any damage, report it to Revane! In my case, no damage was noticed, so the installation went smoothly. I am happy with the performance of the WD HD product and Revain!
