I used a standard mat once and found that the adhesive had come loose and was all over the backing sheet. It was a sticky vinyl project so it wasn't a big deal. I was just removing the protective film when I saw that most of the mat adhesive on the mat remained on the clear film as you can see in the picture. I'm using it for an HTV project and the mat adhesive has come off all over the HTV backing sheet. I had to erase everything to keep the glue from melting on the press. I would not recommend it. Very expensive because almost all the glue is gone after two applications. The return window is closed so I have to buy another one and pay more for it.
