. I knew there had to be a better solution than spending $250-$400 on a Thule axle mount or whatever, which ended up being a ridiculously expensive $65 adapter for thru-axle bikes would require (almost all road bikes now have rims). Plus, with this mount, you don't have to mess around with removing the tire. I have a Silverado short bed and the bike fits perfectly in the tailgate by turning the front wheel a little. As other reviewers have pointed out, I only have to use 1 of the 2 clamps and the bike never moves. It is essentially a bike rack for two bikes. The only criticism I have is that the clamp shape doesn't work when attached to an oval carbon fiber front fork. Can't complain as I only use 1 clip on the main frame. If I had to use it, the strap on the clip would have plenty of slack where you could easily tuck a cloth/towel in to protect and secure the connector. Amazing product, amazing price, very happy with the purchase.
