I followed the instructions and downloaded the "BTlink” software from their website. Since it was a .ra file, I had to download an unzip tool to unzip the software. Windows had security cows when I tried to download the Konnwei software and after that I ran a few virus/worm scans and nothing seemed to download to my computer. The software then told me to press the "OK" button while plugging the USB cable into the tester so it would go into "upgrade mode". There is no "OK" button on the battery charge tester, so I assumed hitting "enter" would get me where I needed to be, and it did. I ran a series of tests on my battery. I wanted to do a quick test, but to do this you need to know how many amp-hours your battery has, not cold cranking amps. Most flooded car batteries don't have an amp hour rating, so I couldn't do a quick test. I have run automotive tests testing the battery "in the car" and provided the results as shown above. I also did a charge test which showed the alternator was charging the battery and showed a small jet charge voltage. I did the start test shown in the graphic above, then stopped the engine and restarted it. Voltage drop is the voltage drop when the starter starts the car. The BTlink software allows you to download the two items shown above. It would be nice to have them together on one page instead of printing two. The waveform was not printed and must first be saved as a bitmap before it can be printed. This is done via the small icon at the top right of the page. This can be described in the book, but must be specified in the program. or symbol much more. I found it good that the current charge status could be seen in real time, but could not be saved or printed out. It would be nice to have this information so that over time it can contribute to alternator brush wear. I also like the waveform that is saved in real time. I gave it four stars because there is something that would improve my experience if the tester could quickly test with CCA and update the BTlink software so that it is not "OK" but "Enter". What's with the green on the test print? Black would be better. I like that the information can be printed out for future reference. For the price this would be a nice addition to my garage.
