Hi everyone, I have purchased WP35 and 25 soldering irons so please note the following. Firstly, WP25, it took less than a week before it stopped working. The WP35 on the other hand lasted a bit longer but was nothing but trouble right from the start! From a technical point of view, both models were obsolete at best. Both models are powered/heated directly from an AC outlet using a 3-wire cord that plugs into a plastic outlet. This assembly connects directly to the heating element and that's it. No switch/knob for safety or temperature control. In short, it heats up like a serpentine on a stove set at high temperature. Therefore, I would advise anyone who owns this product to return it to the manufacturer immediately for a refund. Unfortunately, what I learned the most from both cases is that I cannot rely on Weller's tools. Why or how it was allowed into the public market is really beyond my justification.
