Let's just point by point because it will be faster. Questions and Answers - I had questions that I now have answers to: 1. The trinocular attachment allows you to use both eyepieces and the camera tube at the same time. (I often encountered this question, competitors' heads turned off the left eye to activate the camera port)2. You can insert a do-it-yourself darkfield "filter" into the filter holder to simulate darkfield microscopy (although it's not exactly darkfield). and if you are a creative person you can even use 4X and 10X polarized light (You need 2 polarizing filters. One on the LED before the condenser and one between the subject and the lens.) Pros: - Clear, high quality optics (after cleaning) . I used an old Bausch & Lomb and this Swift is much better than this one in terms of optical quality. Of course, my B&L is about 100 years old. Really good focusing mechanism. I LOVE the large focus on this scope. The oil is smooth and very precise adjustment. - Sturdy construction, doesn't feel cheap (except for adjusting the capacitor). Cons: - Quality control issues. I was actually sent two of these because the first must have been a return that was sent back to the warehouse and sent to me because parts were missing (Revain's fault, not Swift. Revain fixed everything). But when my second, new one came, I thought at first that the optics are kind of crappy. Then I realized it was because there was so much residue and dirt on the optics. The attached photos show Zeiss lens cleaning wipes after cleaning ONLY the underside and glass of the camera mount on the head. No lenses, no eyepieces, nothing else. I was surprised! But after a good (and somewhat disappointing) cleaning, the optics are sharp, clear and beautiful. So if you get yours and the optics leave something to be desired, maybe clean them up and see if that helps. The condenser/iris is slightly off center (see image) and the zoom control is absolute crap. Again, maybe this is a quality control (maybe it was set a little wrong). I hope I can level it. but the condenser adjustment is made of cheap plastic, so that can be the case. It's literally the only thing in the entire scope that feels cheap. I don't know why they don't just put a better piece in. What happens is when you close the aperture, it starts restricting one side of the field of view. So you can't stop as low as you should for a given raise. In general I am satisfied. Finally I received the microscope with all parts, cleaned and working. But I didn't have to go through all the extra steps. Hence I docked 2 stars.
