It was a bit difficult to get the system to recognize the hardware. I had to copy the supplied installation disk to a USB stick and tell the system to install the driver from that file, as well as install some patches that were also on the disk. After that it became pretty reliable. I've played Blu-rays and DVDs from multiple regions with no issues. I am using Leawo Blu-ray Player software (free) on Windows 10 system for Blu-ray disc and both USB lines are connected to USB 3.0 ports. I had to use an old laptop to copy the installation CD to USB. Probably not the best product for those who are not tech savvy. I googled the problem that the system doesn't recognize the hardware and couldn't find a solution. You cannot insert a CD into your computer if the drive is not recognized and there is no other CD drive. The software couldn't be found on the ASUS website either, but I'm not sure if it's changed since I bought it in 2017. If you have the same problem, try what I tried. If you're not tech savvy, find someone who is and see if they can help you :-)
