What is to be considered.

I am writing this review to possibly help someone who is having a problem installing this flash. I, the homeowner, did the installation. I have installed dozens of toilets, sinks and shower faucets and am very comfortable with them. This is only my second urinal and it has been over twenty years since the first one. Experience with a urinal is extensive and I have practically none. However, there is always YouTube, right? However, there is little information on urinal flushing on YouTube and none on this model either. Installation is relatively easy, but when I was done there was a loud metallic pop at the end of the cycle. Looks like it needs a shock absorber but I had it. I changed the drummer. So far no success. Then I accidentally flushed the inlet flange mount about an inch farther from the feed stop. The knocking stopped. I reset the supply line ยพ inch from the center of the nozzle flange. The American standard recommends 4 ยผ" to 5 ยผ". I originally had 4 ยผ inches. I changed it to 5 inches. I hope that a plumber or an American Standard representative will step in on this matter. Here's my theory, we have very good/strong water pressure. That extra 3/4" was necessary because of our pressure. Again, these are just my thoughts and I'm not a licensed plumber or technician. I like having a urinal (also American standard) and the flush works very well now. Instructions are easy and clear. A couple of large nuts are already attached to the bracket (I spent a few minutes looking for the parts already attached). Two suggestions: Overdo it when attaching the piping. It must not move! Second, a large 2" wrench plus crescent wrench (smooth not serrated) not only required for installation but also handy for future use. I also have easy access to the back of the unit which is not only for installation but also for future repairs is of great benefit.overall it seems to be a very good product at a good price.hope this helps someone.
