Waste of $$: seasonal lighting

I bought two boxes of these lights. When I opened up the remote and tested it, I was amazed by the ease of use and the brightness of the backlight. I used them for the first time last night and after about 2 hours they started fading. I tried making them brighter with the remote control. When I turned them on tonight, several of the 8 filaments were either not lit or were very dim. None of them had the brightness of the original light. I'm just so disappointed as they were such a big part of my Christmas decorations. I really don't want to give them any stars. I don't have time to go back.
