Review on πŸ› οΈ Exhaust Manifold Clamp Repair Kit - Fixes Broken Bolt Inside Cylinder Head (Replaces OEM 11518860) by Jump Robinson

Not an easy install, but a quality product.

After a muffler shop offered me $200 to fix my truck and another told me they use this mount, I decided to try it myself. I have a 2008 GMC Sierra 5.3 and installed it on the back DRIVER SIDE. As other people have said, it's easier to install under the truck than from the top, but it's still not easy. If you have big hands or minimal dexterity, you're going to be in trouble. I have longer, thinner and very flexible arms which made this setup easier for me. BEFORE you begin you will need RED Loctite, a good quality high temperature anti-seize compound and, if available, a 9/16 ratchet wrench. Photos are deceiving as the screws don't have small heads like the one in the picture. One of my rear cap screws held the ground strap, so I just added it in the same place when I installed the bracket screw. Having someone to hold the strut under the hood while you try to screw the bolts in by hand can make your job easier. The screws shouldn't be too tight and there's no need to worry about the turnbuckle. Overall, the installation took about an hour and the leak was fixed immediately. I'm glad I did.
