I tried buying thin bags at first but they broke as soon as I opened the bag to throw it in a recycling bin . We use Oxo bins and they work great. However, the bins are too big to carry in the car, so we now use plastic bags in the bins and just take the bags out. I'm so glad I have these Glad bags! They are big enough to fit in our recycling bins. They have a handy drawstring top that can also be used for carrying and if I pull a little it fits snugly over the Glad pocket around the top of the bin. These pouches will not tear and are very durable. To save money we will fill them up more and send recyclables to landfill less often (I wash everything well anyway). I had to throw away the cheap flimsy bags we were given which was a terrible waste, very counterproductive.
